A full-semester group project focused on redesigning the website for a local preschool. The goal was to create a more welcoming and informative experience for parents, using the design thinking process from start to finish.
This group project redesigned the website for Dybbølsten Børnehave & Vuggestue, a preschool in southern Denmark. The aim was a modern, welcoming site to attract new parents in a competitive market. Our team of three followed the design thinking process, adapting it to our approach.
The old website didn’t highlight what made the preschool unique—it looked outdated and generic, making it harder to stand out locally. Over the semester, another challenge was keeping the group aligned while still giving space for individual ideas.
After identifying parents’ needs and the site’s flaws, we generated ideas on information flow and content. The focus was making navigation simple while highlighting what made the preschool unique. Instead of building in WordPress, we created a detailed Figma prototype with clear opening hours, staff bios, photo galleries, and short descriptions of values and routines—helping parents feel informed and connected from the start.
Our team of three worked through the full design thinking process together. I contributed heavily to idea generation, helped shape the Figma prototype, and focused on clearly communicating the preschool’s values by making staff, routines, and location easy for parents to find
